Final Evaluation Report (2024)

The 2024 Final Evaluation Report summarizes a project aimed at strengthening chimpanzee conservation in the Kom-Wum Forest Reserve, Cameroon. Key objectives were reducing illegal human activities (bushmeat hunting), improving local livelihoods through bee farming and piggery, and raising conservation awareness. The project successfully reduced human activity by 77%, increased chimpanzee sightings by 44%, and trained 95 community members in sustainable practices. Conservation awareness campaigns, including posters, signboards, and workshops, positively impacted local attitudes toward chimpanzee protection. Future plans involve expanding anti-poaching patrols, improving livelihoods, and enhancing conservation efforts.
